The History of CFL Helmet logos...

Most know the CFL has been around a very long time...considerably longer than the NFL or any other professional football league...So whats in a logo? Over the years teams have changed or tinkered with their teams logo, team colours, etc.

I thought it would be interesting to take a look all the different logos teams have dawned...

Today I will start with the Western Division. Tomorrow I will look at the Eastern Division.

Lets start out West in BC. The lions have had many logos.

This was the teams logo in from 1953 through 1968.....

During the 80s this is what you most likely what you saw...they dawned this from 1980-1988

Last...this is the current lion logo which has been in print since 1989-present

Here is an alternate logo the lions have been wearing for a couple years as well...this started in 2006.

Moving to Edmonton.........

The double E hasn't had much for change within their logo over time....

This is what the green and gold had as a logo from 1975-1995.

There most current Eskimo logo....been used from 95-present

Off to Calgary.........

Circa 1962....Did the indy colts rip this off???

The logo most old school fans will remember....used from 1953-1967

The horse......the staple of the stampeders....seen since 1968 through today...

Off to Riderville............

The riders in the 70s used a old school logo....

From the Mid 80s this is what we have seen....
